Each numbered carpark in the Atlas Quarter Carpark is designated to a specific apartment; and as such, is PRIVATE PROPERTY. Do not park in a vacant space unless you have permission from that owner/tenant. Cars are at risk of being towed/clamped if illegally parked. There is alternative paid/free parking on neighbouring streets.
There is no visitor parking on site. If you need trade vehicle/moving truck access, please email info@pbcs.nz as early as possible. It is also considerate to inform others via Facebook if people may be inconvenienced. You could also ask on our Facebook page if there is a park available for a few hours.
If a visitor has mobility issues (and a Mobility Card), please liaise with BC Committee as to parking option. It is important PBCS are aware and can update with Wilson Parking. Wilson Parking patrol Atlas Lane and will ticket illegal parking.
For those wishing to clean their vehicles, you may do so in the truck turning area, marked as a no-parking area in the southwest corner of the carpark. Vehicles must not be left unattended and must be moved immediately after washing or if a truck is needing the area to turn.
Electric vehicles cannot be charged at Atlas Quarter at this time. Other options include:
The council's Lichfield Street carpark has free EV charging; you only need to pay $10 for overnight parking or $14 for all-day parking. These are 22 kW AC chargers.
Z Moorhouse has a 75 kW DC charger.
Pak'nSave has cheap 22 kW AC chargers through ChargeNet. Be warned that they will issue you a ticket if you exceed the parking time limit.
New World has more expensive 50 kW and 25 kW DC chargers through ChargeNet.
JOLT allows limited free charging every day. Additional charging will cost. You can receive a discount on a monthly subscription.
There are Tesla Superchargers at The George hotel. Pricing depends on the time of day.
Genesis Energy has an EVerywhere add-on allowing you to use ChargeNet public chargers for the same price as if you were charging at home. A fair use policy applies.
Some cars can only charge at 11 kW on AC chargers, and require a DC charger for faster speeds.
Charging at high speeds can be bad for your car's battery. Using slow AC chargers can prevent this damage.
PlugShare is the best way to find nearby EV chargers.
